Neither. Coaching is a discipline where a Coach works with an executive or business to improve through a methodology without giving specific business advice. This falls under the training and business consultant services category.

I have a Business Coach. Can he/she offer the same?

Today some confusion has been generated through some business consultants calling themselves Coaches. If you are working with a business consultant that has experience in planning and general management, it is very probable that he or she could help you with your planning. If you have a certified Coach (not a consultant), he or she won’t give you specific tools, methods, and advice on your business planning, but he or she is a great complement to help you define and execute what you will do with these tools.
